Canadian mezzo soprano Cassandra Warner has garnered international acclaim. With a diverse array of performance experience, Miss Warner has excelled at stage roles, concert performances, international competitions and is frequently engaged to perform for special events world-wide.
Opera Companies and Symphony Orchestras
Cassandra has appeared with such prominent opera companies as Vancouver Opera, Calgary Opera, Opera Atelier and Opera Toulon in France. She has also performed with such distinguished orchestras as Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Civic Symphony, Tafelmusik Orchestra, Oakville Chamber Orchestra, Toronto Concert Orchestra and with The Royal Conservatory of Music Orchestra while attending the Glenn Gould School of Music. Miss Warner was a recent featured soloist at Toronto Botanical Gardens and made four appearances with Toronto Concert Orchestra for Casa Loma’s Symphony in the Gardens series.
International Acclaim
Miss Warner has toured across China, the United States, Europe and Canada. She has been a soloist with the boys choir of Regensberg in Germany and has performed for such dignitaries as former Prime Minister of Canada, Jean Chrétien, the Governor General of Ontario, the French Ambassador to Canada and the Polish Ambassador to Canada at the recent 80th year celebration of Polish & Canadian relations.
Awards and Media Features
Cassandra won first Prize at the Canadian MET Opera Competition and third prize at the Chants de Marmande of France. Cassandra has been featured by such media outlets as the Toronto Star, CBC Television, CBC Radio, CTV, Classical 96.3 FM Radio and Schmopera Blog.
Premiers
Cassandra was invited to perform as soloist for the world premier of Schumman’s Frauen Liebe und Leben cycle arranged for voice and string orchestra by Lothar Ochmann as well as for the Canadian premier of Andrew Miller’s The Birth of Christ, which was broadcast across North America, Europe and presented as a special gift to the pope both with Masterworks of Oakville. Cassandra Warner was the Saloon Singer in the World Premier of Bramwell Tovey’s The Inventor with UBC Opera and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
